A Tree

Everyone that comes into my life goes into a certain category in an analogy of a tree. Some people are like leaves, the wind blows and they're over there unstable. It blows again and they're somewhere else until the season passes and they wither away and die. Most people in the world are like that and they are only meant to take from the tree and give shade every now and then. That is all that they can do and don't get mad at them because that is who they are and they will never amount to anything but a leaf blowing in the wind. Some people are like a branch on your tree. Be careful because they will fool you. They'll deceive you into thinking they are good friends and real strong but the moment you step out on your own they break and leave you high and dry. But until you find those few and in between people that are like the roots of the bottom of that tree then you are blessed because those type of people do not go anywhere. They are not worried about being seen, nobody has to know that they know you, and they don't have to know what you're doing. And I've learned without those roots the tree wouldn't be able to live. A tree can have a hundred branches and only a few roots at the bottom to make sure it gets all it needs. When you find your roots hold one to them. When you see a leaf wanting to be a branch give notice. But be wise, some people are leaves for one person yet roots for another; one of life's hardest lessons to swallow. And in the end, out of the thousands of leaves and branches and roots that make up your tree you will learn either how used up and battered your life has become or just how beautiful you stand tall amongst the worst of storms.
